Welcome to My Practice

Are you feeling like something is “off”?

Is the “committee” in your head so noisy and confusing that you have a hard time making a simple decision?

Do you no longer enjoy the things you used to enjoy?

Is life getting to the place where you are choosing to ignore your thoughts and feelings and/or participating in negative actions to help suppress your current reality?

Are you able to nurture your relationships, or are you neglecting to “feed” the relationship and be present in it?

These questions require us to take a deep and hard look into ourselves, and to begin to look at our lives from a wider perspective. Life is not static, but instead fluid and constantly changing. Change can be difficult, but change is necessary to facilitate growth. As Oprah Winfrey so elegantly stated, “The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.”

I approach therapy as a holistic process, aligning the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual parts of our whole being. I embrace wholeheartedness from a place of mindfulness and truth. Once we accept and surrender to our truths, then the journey of healing can begin.

I offer sessions both in-person and virtual. We will start with an initial in-person session to get acquainted and begin to create a safe space for building our relationship. The following sessions can continue to be in-person or switch to virtual depending on the individual’s needs.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is very simple. I believe in establishing an open and safe line of communication between two people, building a trusting relationship, and creating a constructive space for healing and growth. Respecting the therapeutic relationship as a place for authenticity, mutual respect, genuineness, acceptance, and unconditional consciousness is important to me. My belief is that you cannot engage in empathy from a place of judgement. Therefore, I practice empathy from a non-judgmental place for the client. We will work very hard to create and nurture a strong and healthy working relationship. I also encourage the therapeutic process to be person-centered, rather than theory/technique centered.

I focus on ensuring that the client feels heard and understood through active listening and reflection of their feelings with an accurate and empathetic understanding. Assisting the client to uncover old ways of thinking and behaving that no longer work for them and encouraging a “peeling back of the layers” to get to the core of what is causing pain and discomfort is paramount to being able to do things differently and create an opportunity for change. As Wayne W. Dyer stated, “Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change”. I strive to encourage and motivate my clients to take action to move in the direction of being the best version of themselves, accepting what is in their control and what is not, and finding a place of peace and contentment.

As a therapist I work with a wide range of clients, ranging from teenagers to adults, and I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to meet each individual where they are currently struggling. In a supportive atmosphere, I help clients attain the personal growth they're striving for.
